Hebrews 10:19 “We have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the Blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is His Body.”

It was a dark and sombre day in the outskirts of Jerusalem. On a hill just outside the city walls, a Man who’d been attracting crowds for the past three years hung in disgrace and pain on a rough wooden cross, Mourners wept and wailed in sorrow. The light of the sun no longer brightened the afternoon sky. And the intense suffering of the Man ended when He cried out in a loud voice, “It is finished”. At that very moment, another sound came from the great temple across town - the sound of ripping fabric. Miraculously without human intervention, the Huge, Thick Veil that separated the outer temple from the Holy of Holies tore in two from Top to Bottom. That torn curtain symbolized the reality of the cross; a new way was now opened to God. Jesus the Man on the cross, had shed His Blood as the last sacrifice allowed, all who believe in Him are able to enjoy forgiveness of sins and enter into a relationship with God. Amidst the darkness of that Good Friday, Jesus opened a way for us to be saved from the consequences of our sins and experience fellowship with God. Thank you Jesus for the torn Veil.

Have a Blessed Peace filled Easter knowing the price has been paid for our sins.
Jesus is also the reason for This Season!

1 John 5:18. "We know whoever is born of God does not keep on sinning.  But whoever is born of God guards himself, and the wicked one cannot touch him."  Satan cannot do anything to you apart from fear, any more than God will do something for you apart from faith (Heb. 11:6).  Just as faith is unwavering confidence in God and His WORD, fear is unwavering confidence in something that has the ability to hurt you or cause a serious loss in your life.  It is activated through words and actions in the same way faith is activated through words and actions.

The Fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and self-control.  Notice no fear.

Fear must come from the outside, it first comes against your mind as thoughts of doubt, unbelief, disaster.  When you meditate on these and it starts to come out of your mouth, they begin to grow and take root inside you.  Jesus said, "Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks." (Matt 12:34, 25) If you want good things to come to pass in your life, speak God's WORD.  Refuse to speak words of doubt, fear and unbelief which gives the devil a foothold.  Don't ever act on fear.  It will move into your spirit and choke your faith.  It will do its best to stay there and ruin your life.  Fill your heart with God's unchanging WORD, and watch the abundance of your heart produce the fruit of the Spirit, the blessings of God.

I read an article on a guy, James, who got a new puppy, and caught him chewing on one of his books he bemoaned that this was only one of the incidents of catching him chewing on his personal possessions. It brought to mind our dog Buddy when he was a puppy.  He chewed on anything he could get to.  My glasses, money (someone else's, Alice S., actually took it out of her purse) any paper laying around and all the plastic tips on my shoe laces.  I like the way James brought it around to us, and what we "Chew" on in out minds and hearts.  Do we carefully consider what we are feeding our souls when we watch T.V. surf on the internet, the social media, games, music we listen to etc.?  We have been learning in Bible study, that what we "chew" on is what comes out of us, especially in a time of crisis.  No wonder the Lord told Joshua, to meditate on the Word day and night to have success.  "Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks." Matt. 12:34 What we chew on, in other words, fill our minds with, is how we develop our maturity, or not, in the Lord.  Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. Rom. 10:17. Having our mind so full of the Word that at times of crisis we know what to speak.  Now that's good chewing.

I was reading an article on borderline christianity.  It was related to the children of Israel when they finally came to the promised land with Joshua and Moses had died.  The Lord told them to go across the Jordan River and claim the land promised to them.  There would still be battles to win, the enemy would not give it up easily, but God promised to be with them and if they obeyed Him, would win every battle.  However, 2 1/2 tribes, Reuben, Gad and the half tribe of Manasseh asked to stay on the east side of the Jordan, they saw its good pastures etc and wanted to settle there, so just before he died they asked Moses to let them settle there.  Moses was very upset but they proposed a compromise and finally Moses agreed.  Were they right, the answer in No.  These men moved by sight and not by faith.  God had told them to possess the west side of the Jordan. This is an example of borderline Christianity, are we possessing only that which satisfies us, or are we moving ahead to claim all that God has for us, all that Jesus paid such a high price for us to have.  Matt. 13:23 "But he that receives seed into good ground is he that hears the Word and understands it; who also bears fruit and brings forth some 100 fold, some 60 some 30.

John 5:8 “Stand up pick up your bed and walk.”  Can you imagine being flat on your back for 38 yrs?
That was the condition of the man at the pool of Bethesda.  Jesus knew he had no power to get up and walk in his own strength, but commanded him to do the impossible, to stand up and walk.  The man faced a choice.  He could ignore Jesus, debate with him or obey him.  At that moment he chose to believe JESUS words and made his move to obey.  Miraculously strength flowed into his body and he received all the power he needed to do the impossible.  We linger in our troubles so much longer than we need to.  We often are overwhelmed by adversity.  We can be tormented by fear or worry, all because we do not dwell in His Word.  Without reading and dwelling in God’s word we have no foundation for our faith.  We need to have a Word from the Lord to be able to stand on.  When we find a Word to stand on, we then have a choice.  We can ignore it, debate it, or obey it.  Only when we choose to obey His Words can we reprise the miracle needed.

Luke 17:6 “He replied, If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this Sycamine tree, Be rooted up and planted in the sea, and it will obey you.”  (Cont.)

The first point was about its roots,

second- its use and hardiness in dry conditions, third- Its fruit was bitter to eat.  It looked as good as the Sycamore tree but certainly not as tasty.  The rich because cost more, got to eat fruit from the Sycamore, the poor ate the fruit from the Sycamine as it was least expensive.  To eat it they would nibble on it a little at a time it was so tart.  You know how a person who is bitter and full of unforgiveness chews on their feelings for a long time, nibbling on bitterness for awhile, reflecting on their offence, then digesting what they reflected on, returning often to their memory table.  As a result, the fruit of bitterness makes them bitter, sour people.

forth -The Sycamine is pollinated only by wasps.  Strangely, the Sycamine is not naturally pollinated.  The process is only done when a wasp sticks it’s stinger right into the heart of the fruit.  It has to be stung in order to be reproduced.  Have you heard a bitter person say “I’ve been stung by that person.” It is likely that people who make such a statement have been “stung” by a situation that the devil pollinated in their hearts and souls with bitterness and unforgiveness.  Jesus was saying, in order to rid this nuisance from one’s life, a person must have faith the size of a mustard seed.  Any person who has even a tiny measure of faith can speak to bitterness and unforgiveness and command them to leave = if that is really the desire of his heart.

2 Cor. 3:18 “But we all with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are CHANGED into the same image from "glory to glory”, even by the Spirit of the Lord.”

I was watching the story of a little girl who had Down’s Syndrome who loved butterflies because they transform from an ugly cocoon into a beautiful insect.  She thought she was not considered pretty on the outside, but because Jesus was in her heart she believed she was beautiful on the inside.

Changed, transformed, transfigured, those are powerful, exciting words and they describe what will happen to us when we spend time beholding the Lord in Word and Prayer.  As we spend time renewing our minds with the WORD of God, our outer being will be transformed like a caterpillar.  Instead of conforming into the image of the world, you’ll begin to conform to THE IMAGE OF THE REBORN SPIRIT WITHIN YOU.  Study and mediate on God’s Word and let it change you from the inside out.  Be transformed by the renewing of your mind and release the beautiful spiritual butterfly living in you.

Romans 12:2 “And be not conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind.”  We need to apply and stand on the Word over the situation we find ourselves in, and not dwell on the circumstances, but on what the scriptures say about it.  Refuse to let our thoughts drown out what God is saying.  We need to bully our minds when we are tempted to think wrongly, it definitely can be a battle, but we can only think of one thing at a time, so if we force ourselves to talk back to it and read or say scripture out loud we can win the battle.

Luke 24:1-3 “Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.  And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.  And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.”  Truly, it’s time to stop looking for the living among the dead.  It’s time to stop walking around in the cemetery of sin, sickness and failure and to step into resurrection life.  The Bible says we have been raised with Christ and seated with Him in heavenly places so we are no accident going somewhere to happen, God has specific plans for us, but we’ll never know what they are until we put our attention on Him, and that’s why the devil works hard to keep us focussing on the problems of life.  That’s why he tries to keep our attention turned away from the living Word of God.  Why?  Because once we truly understand that we have the life of God inside us, we will begin to act just like Jesus did, we’ll be acting like the Body of Christ on earth and this terrifies him.  Don’t let Satan bind you with the grave clothes of yesterday’s sin and defeat.  You’re not dead anymore.  You’ve been raised with Jesus.

This is the love month, really for Christians it should be 12 months of the year.  I’d like to retell you a story I read.  A family therapist tells of a man who set out to adopt a troubled teenage girl.  She was destructive, disobedient and dishonest.  One day she came home from school and ransacked the house looking for money.  By the time he arrived, she was gone and the house was in shambles.  Upon hearing of her actions, a friend urged him not to finalize the adoption.  “Let her go,” he said. His response was simply, “But I’ve already promised her that she would be my daughter.”  God too has made a covenant to adopt his people.  His covenant is not invalidated by our rebellion.  It’s one thing to love us when we are strong, obedient and willing.  But when we ransack his house—and steal what is his?  This is the test of love, and God passes the test.  “For God shows His great love for us in this way, Christ died for us while we were still sinners.” Romans 5:8

The Father didn’t look at the wrecked house and say, “Come back when you’ve learned respect.”  God didn’t look at our frazzled lives and say, “I’ll die for you when you deserve it.”  No, despite our sin, in the face of our rebellion, he chose to adopt us, and for God there is no going back.  And you never again have to wonder who your father is… “For God is love.  Whoever lives in love lives in God and God in Him.”

Romans 10:17 “So then Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.”  I’ve written on God’s Word before but it seems more and more I am becoming aware of how real and powerful it is.  It has integrity beyond reproach.  God never changes, Hebrews 13:8, and His Word does not change, it is His Bond.  The nature of His Word is miraculous.  All He did was speak it and the world came into being.  Hebrews 11:3 says “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the Word of God”, He just spoke and what He said came into being by His Faith.  Abraham stood in faith against adverse circumstances and The Word of God, to him, prevailed.  God releases His faith with His Word.  He is a faith being.  We are dealing with a living God, a living Jesus, a living Word.  His faith and our faith come together by The Word.  His Word and Faith prevail on the lips of a believer.  As we confess the Word in Faith, the Holy Spirit has freedom to bring complete and total deliverance.  This season let’s put into action the rights Jesus purchased for us, by confessing the power of God’s living Word, be like Abraham and refuse to stagger at The Word of God, but stand strong in faith giving glory to God.

Have a wonderful Christ-Centered Christmas and Happiest of new years

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14       You may be thinking, “Can a few people like us actually change the whole nation?”  Well can one demonic person change a nation for the worse, yes Hitler did. No nation is so far gone that God can’t change it.  Israel proved that. God has raised it up before our very eyes.  Did you notice that in this scripure it says, “If MY people which are called by MY name…” Notice also that He didn’t say “If my people will get out and sign petitions, or drum up a majority vote etc.” he said “PRAY” In other words we’re going to have to quit trying to work this thing out by ourselves, God Himself will do the healing in this land.  Our job is to PRAY, to believe and to seek His face.  The coming election is this month and we need to find out the morality and righteousness our candidates display, if they stick by Israel etc. and not listen to all the campaign promises that suit us or that tickle out ears.  None are perfect, but only God knows the heart.  God promises to give us wisdom when we ask for it, so seek His direction and let’s go out and vote.

John 10:12 “The hired hand is not the shepherd and does not own the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it.”

I heard an excellent message from T.D. Jakes that explained how Satan is trying to scatter the church. When Jesus said “The thief comes only to steal, kill and destroy” he wasn’t only talking about our personal lives, but also the church body as a whole. There is no strength in isolation but as a body of believers united in mind, no weapon formed against us can prosper, a cord of 3 strands is not easily broken.

When Jesus was crucified, his disciples were scattered, they thought the ministry was done. Satan thought he had won the victory and scattered the flock but then Jesus rose from the dead, hallelujah, and brought the sheep back into the fold. He gave them a command to go into all the world and preach the gospel to all nations. He confirmed it with signs, wonders and miracles. There is safety in numbers as we pull together for His kingdom. Jesus left the 99 safe in the fold to go after the lone sheep who was in danger on his own. What does Satan use to scatter us; strife, bickering, taking offence, unforgiveness, irritation over personality differences etc.  Anything to cause hard feelings towards one another and so squash the move of the Spirit. Satan is making an all out attack on families and churches and a lot of Christians are falling for it. We forget we are not wrestling against flesh and blood but principalities, powers, rulers of darkness and spiritual wickedness in heavenly places. The world is to know we are Christians by our Love.
