Citizen Youth at The Junction

Fog and youth filled The Junction on Friday, April 1 for Citizen Youth. The 31 students started off the night by relaxing and playing pool, Rock Band and Foosball. Group games brought about much laughter. Especially when students were asked to hum a popular song with a mouth full of water and their mouth open. Needless to say, a mop was necessary!

Following a session of worship, Pastor Matt shared God’s word with the students (see below) before encouraging the students to pray. It was evident that some students were processing what Pastor Matt had shared from God’s word.

All of this simply goes to say that God is continuing to do amazing things at Citizen Youth!

Reminder: Overflow is coming up and expectations are high for students to be present both physically and spiritually.

Notes from Pastor Matt’s Sermon

  • Focused on Luke 10:38
  • Martha invites Jesus and his disciples to her home, where she is doing all the cooking while her sister Mary is acknowledging Jesus and spending time with Him.
    • A lot of times we say it is okay to be present but not in His presence.
    • We need to be the people seeking the presence of God.
  • In the moments we are present with God is where we can be closer to God.
  • Focus on God and not all the little things because it is about being content in His presence.
    • We need to take every chance possible to be in the presence of God.
  • God can do amazing things in those moments.
  • God’s not asking you to be comfortable because He will call you to uncomfortable things. And God has this huge adventure that He is going to take you on.
